The second Global Poker Awards (GPA) took place on March 6 at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. The award ceremony was attended by some of the biggest names in the world of poker. The ceremony honored players, as well as industry professionals and those from the media for their achievements and exemplary contributions to poker in 2019.
Last year was another big year for poker couple Kristen Bicknell and Alex Foxen. For the third consecutive year, Bicknell was named GPI Female Player of the Year, while Foxen received the GPI POY for the second year in a row. Andrew Neeme and Lex Veldhuis once again claimed the Vlogger of the Year and Streamer of the Year award respectively.
Other back-to-back winners include poker photographer Drew Amato who won Photo of the Year for the second consecutive year, as well as the RunGood Poker Series which returned as the winner of the Mid Major Tour/Circuit of the Year award.
Joey Ingram scored a double victory during the ceremony, winning the Media Content: Video category for his coverage of the Mike Postle Cheating Scandal (Investigating Mike Postle Hand Histories from Stones Live – shown below), and also claiming the Journalist of the Year award.

Robert Campbell, who won two bracelets during the 2019 World Series of Poker (WSOP) and was officially declared 2019 WSOP POY, received the GPI Breakout Player of the Year award. Final Table Performance went to 2019 WSOP Poker Players Championship winner Phil Hui.
Jamie Kerstetter won Twitter Personality, while Stephen Chidwick was the Player’s Choice for Toughest Opponent. The Grid: Jennifer Shahade was named Podcast of the Year, with Paul Phua of Triton Poker winning the Industry Person Of The Year award. Matt Savage of the World Poker Tour received the honor for Tournament Director of the Year.
Event of the Year went to the PokerStars Players Championship Bahamas, while Nick Schulman won Broadcaster of the Year. Martin Harris for D+B Publishing received the award for Media Content: Written for his piece Poker and Pop Culture.
Jonathan Little won the People’s Choice for Poker Personality, while Hand of the Year went to Ryan Riess, for his remarkable 10-high all-in call while competing at the final table at EPT Monte Carlo. John Cernuto received the Hendon Mob Award, while the first Poker ICON award went to Poker Hall of Famer Johnny Chan.
