2019 APAT UK Team Championship To Start This Friday

The sold-out 2019 Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) UK Team Championship will see 35 teams battle it out this month. The event takes place at Grosvenor Casino, Blackpool and will start on January 25. The player who tops the individual standings bags around £4800.

The tournament follows a traditional multi-table format wherein the eight-member teams earn points according to the finishing positions of the members. Half of the prize pool will be divided among the top 3 teams, while the other 50 percent will be shared by the top 18 individual finishers. The winning team will take home £5250, while the runner-up and third place finishers get £3150 and £2100 respectively.

The teams competing at the 2019 APAT Team Championship are Ace High Poker, All In League, Angie’s Room, APAT Green, APAT Black, BCPC, Big Potatoes, Blue Blood, BLUFF Europe, Coldstream PKR, Degens, East Herts poker League, Edgworth Cricket Club, Essex Home Game, Fatdog Poker, FISO, Frome Poker Group, Geordie Poker and Grosvenor Blackpool.

Also looking to win the title are Hetton Social Poker, HitSquad. JoeBeevers.com, KrackedKings, LBPN, London Poker Meetup, LPPL Green, LPPL Black, Malvern Poker Club, Midlands Poker Forum, Punters Lounge, Raise for Jack, ScotSquad, Sutton Poker, Team Grosvenor and The Kav Cocktails.

2018 champions Punters Lounge will try to defend the title while JoeBeevers.com and Angie’s Room, who finished second and third respectively, will see if they can up their game and take the top spot this year.

PLO/NLHE Side Events

Five side events are also jammed in APAT’s 12th season, which include a Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO), No-Limit Hold’em (NLHE) and PLO/NLHE mix tournaments. Those missing out on the Team Championship can still take part in these £40 buy-in events and eventually take home prizes.

APAT retains its four stops for this year’s edition, with the Austrian Amateur Poker Championship in Vienna running on February 7-10, the Benelux Championship of Amateur Poker taking place from Februay 22 to 24 in Spa, Belgium, and the Scottish Amateur Poker Championship set to happen on March 16-17.

The World Championship of Amateur Poker will close Season 12 of the tour on April 19-28. It takes place in Vienna. Grosvenor Poker is the official online poker partner of APAT. To find out more information about their promos and bonus points, please check out the official website.
