Poker players in Europe will turn their attention to the 2024 Merit Poker Western Series which is set to take place from Jan 14 to 25 in Northern Cyprus at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel & Casino.
Northern Cyprus is turning out to be a popular destination for poker players in Europe as it is in close proximity to most European countries and offers them a chance to be in warmer weather in Jan. When you add the 2024 Merit Poker Western Series to the equation, it becomes all the more appealing.
There are a number of exciting poker events set to take place during this week and a half poker tournament. We take a look at three of the most attractive events on the schedule.
$2,200 Warm Up
The 2024 Merit Poker Western Series will welcome players with the $2,200 Warm Up event which has turned out to be a quite popular event as the 2023 edition saw a total of 523 registrations that pushed the prize pool up to $932,620.
This year, it comes with a $800,000 guarantee and don’t be surprised if it ends up hitting a $1 million prize pool. This event takes place from Jan 15 to 19.
$5,300 High Roller
High stakes players will take a seat at the $5,300 high roller event that runs from Jan 18 to 20. The high roller event in 2023 ended up getting 147 registrations and saw the prize pool hit $659,700.
This year it comes with a guaranteed prize pool of $300,000 and is once again highly likely to surpass that guarantee due to the popularity of the event.
$3,300 Main Event
The highlight of the 2024 Merit Poker Western Series will be the Main Event which has a $3,300 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million. The Day 1A for the Main Event will start on Jan 20 and subsequently be followed by Day1B and Day1C.
The Main Event winner will be announced on Jan 25.
