Summary
There’s another major festival to look forward to on 888poker! This time around, the series will feature classic and old-school tournaments which were hugely popular back in the day. Aptly named the “XL Retro Series“, the festival will award more than $1.7 million in combined guarantees from October 9-25.
The schedule features 27 numbered events, with plenty of other side events to choose from, including Retro versions of 888poker’s regular Big Shot and PKO Rumble tournaments. Players can enter the series for as little as $11, all the way up to $2,100.
The festival culminates in Event #27: XL Retro Main Event which comes with a $250 buy-in and a huge $500,000 guarantee. The tournament has 16 flights played in Normal, Turbo, and Hyper Turbo structures, running from October 20-24.
Day 2 of the tournament is scheduled for October 24, with the final action taking place on October 25. It will be live-streamed via 888poker’s official Twitch channel, 888pokerTV.
Apart from the Main Event, there are other huge tournaments to be on the lookout for, including not just one, but two Mystery Bounty tourneys!
888poker launched the Mystery Bounty feature just a week ago and it was a “booming success” according to the operator, with the $100K GTD Mystery Bounty Kickoff event awarding $188,700 in total prize pool, almost double its guarantee.
It comes as no surprise that 888poker has added the popular format to the XL Retro Series schedule. The first Mystery Bounty tournament has a buy-in of $215 and offers $200,000 in guarantees. A mini version, which costs $33 to enter, has a guarantee of $20,000. Watch out for Oct 16 as both events take place on the same day.
Also on the schedule is a $2,100 buy-in Super High Roller which comes with $150,000 in guaranteed prize money. This high-stakes tournament runs on October 23.
The Mega Deep Opening Event is also not to be missed. It has an entry fee of $109 and features a $120,000 guarantee.
Make sure to follow your favorite 888poker ambassadors and StreamTeam members on Twitch as some of them will be playing in certain tournaments and will live-stream their real money poker games. You’ll be in for the chance to play with them at the same table. On top of that, they will also be giving away free tickets.
