Summary:
BetMGM Poker US has finally introduced its popular cash drop feature to players in Michigan and Pennsylvania. “Hot Tables” debuted in New Jersey in late 2022 and is now available on the BetMGM Poker MI and BetMGM Poker PA platforms, allowing players to win extra prizes through randomized cash drops.
BetMGM Poker launched Hot Tables in New Jersey in December last year, making it the first operator in the US regulated online poker market to launch a randomized cash drop feature. The new feature has now made its way to the MI and PA markets and will run throughout 2023.
Players don’t need to opt-in to join the Hot Tables promotion. They are automatically eligible to win additional prizes when they play no-limit hold’em cash games as well as FastForward games at the following stakes: $0.10/$0.25, $0.25/$0.50, $0.50/$1, $1/$2, and $2.50/$5. However, the feature only gets triggered when at least three players are dealt in.
Each time the feature is triggered, players win additional prizes in the form of randomized cash drops, with the top prize going as high as $1500 at high stakes. The prizes are given away based on five tiers – Bronze Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond.
In the Bronze and Silver tiers, the extra prize is only awarded to the winner of the hand. In the remaining three tiers, half of the cash bonus is given to the winner while the other half is divided among the other active players on the table.
Upon the launch of Hot Tables last year, Luke Staudenmaier, Director of Poker at BetMGM, said the feature gives all cash game players the chance to win huge prizes, similar to what is being offered to players at the BetMGM Casino platform.
While BetMGM Poker was the first to introduce a cash drop feature in the US regulated market, other online poker rooms elsewhere have launched similar features.
American poker pro Phil Galfond, the founder of the Run It Once (RIO) online poker site, first came up with the idea of making cash drops a permanent feature for cash games with RIO’s “Splash the Pot” program.
Other operators like PokerStars, Winamax, and Unibet have also rolled out the same feature as part of their cash game promotions.
