BetMGM Poker Hosting Online Qualifiers for Potomac Poker Open

There’s some good news for poker players looking for a more affordable route to the upcoming Potomac Poker Open Championship. BetMGM Poker is running exclusive online qualifiers for the tournament, open to players in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Potomac Poker Open Championship via BetMGM Poker

The Potomac Poker Open Championship takes place from August 25-28 at the MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino in Maryland. The tournament features a $3,000 buy-in and a massive $1 million in guaranteed prize money.

Online qualifiers for the Potomac Poker Open Championship will be available on BetMGM Poker from August 7-13. Players can enter for as low as $20. Only players from New Jersey and Pennsylvania, where BetMGM Poker’s sister site Borgata Poker also operates, can participate in the qualifiers. It remains unclear whether the same promotion will be offered to Michigan players.

Players can win their way into the $1M GTD tournament in two easy steps. They may start via a Step 1 tournament which costs just $20 to enter. Successful players will then progress to Step 2, a $100 buy-in tournament that will send surviving players to the final qualifier which takes place on August 13.

The winner will receive a Potomac Poker Open Championship package worth $5,000, which covers the $3,000 buy-in, as well as three nights’ hotel accommodation at the MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino. The winner also gets $500 cash for travel expenses.

Potomac Poker Open – Key Details

The Potomac Poker Open Championship will serve as the Main Event of the Potomac Poker Open tournament series which includes 19 numbered events and features $2 million in total guarantees. Apart from the Main Event, other tournaments to watch out for include a $3,500 buy-in, $100K GTD High Roller and a $400 buy-in, $600K GTD NLH Mystery Bounty Opener.

The schedule covers a diverse range of events, which include a $200 Rookies event (exclusive to players with not more than $25K in Hendon Mob live earnings), $1,500 NL Freezeout, $400 Tag Team, $300 Ladies event and two $300 Seniors events.

The schedule also includes plenty of $200 buy-in Nightly NLH events and satellites to the bigger events of the series, allowing players to win big for a more affordable price.
