Summary:
Andrew Hulme is having a year both personally and professionally as a poker player.
After celebrating his wedding anniversary with his wife and welcoming their first baby, he went on to win the $215 NLHE 8-Max Sunday Million at the ongoing PokerStars Bounty Builder Series, a victory that came with a cool $102,522 payout.
The $215 buy-in, $1 million GTD NLHE 8-Max Sunday Million attracted a massive field of 4,831 entries, among them big names, such as Andras “probirs” Nemeth, Ivan “Negriin” Luca and Damian “pampa27” Salas who all fell short of making the final table but managed to reach the money.
The final action saw nine players battle it out for the title and the top prize, with Austria’s “Nemi55514” becoming the first player to bust in 9th place for a total prize of $7,933.
Eliminated next were “LaviniaPortella” of Brazil and “elKKJitow” of the UK who took home $7,264 and $9,906 respectively for claiming the 8th and 7th spots. Another UK pro, “THE MOVER 92”, finished in 6th place for $19,153 in total prize, followed by Romania’s “Razvi_audi” who walked away with $21,726 for his 5th-place finish.
“giorgiopf1” and “jagger97”, both of whom are Brazilians, settled for 4th and 3rd place, taking home $26,659 and $37,399 respectively. The only Brazilian left in the game, Joao “Joao Valli” Vall, engaged in a one-on-one match against the eventual winner Hulme. In the end, the tournament was conquered by Hulme who walked away with a total prize of $102,522, including nearly $40,000 in bounties. Valli received $76,946 for his efforts.
Apart from his online success, the UK poker pro has also had a great run at the live felts in 2023, earning the largest score of his career of $345,000 after placing 19th in the $10,000 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in July.
The Bounty Builder Series continues on PokerStars with plenty more events yet to play out, including the main highlight of the series, two Main Events with buy-ins of $109 and $1,050. The smaller version has a guarantee of $1,000,000, while the bigger one comes with $1,250,000 in guaranteed prize money. Both take place on October 29.
The Bounty Builder Series features a total of 150 numbered events and wraps up on October 30.
