Canada’s Playground Poker Club Awarding Seats to 2023 WSOP ME

Summary:

  • Playground Poker Club is running a step satellite program for the 2023 WSOP Main Event
  • The Montreal poker room will award WSOP Main Event packages to 1 in 10 entrants in the final qualifier on June 3
  • Those in Ontario may also win a Main Event seat via satellites on WSOP Ontario

With just less than three months before the biggest poker festival of the year kicks off, Canadian poker room operators online and live, have announced satellite campaigns for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. Among the venues running satellites for the $10,000 buy-in tournament is the Playground Poker Club in Montreal, Canada.

WSOP ME Packages Up for Grabs

The Playground Poker Club will host a Main Event satellite on June 3 during which 1 in 10 entrants will win WSOP Main Event packages. Players may buy into the satellite for CA$1,800 but they can enter for much cheaper through step 1 satellites taking place every week.

Step 1 satellites cost $225 to enter and are scheduled every Sunday at 4:00 pm from April 9 to May 7, with a further two running on June 1 and 2 at 6:00 pm. One in 10 entrants in the step 1 satellites will advance to the $1,800 final qualifier (Step 2) and they will battle it out with players entering the satellite via direct buy-in.

The Playground Poker Club will award WSOP Main Event packages to 1 in 10 players, and each package, worth CA$16,200, includes the $10,000 tournament buy-in, plus accommodation and travel expenses.

For those who have yet to visit The Playground Poker Club, the poker room is located in the Mohawk territory of Kahnawake, just a few minutes south of downtown Montreal. The venue has 42 poker tables and more than 600 electronic gaming machines. Since its launch in 2010, Playground Poker Club has grown to become a popular poker destination, playing host to major international poker events.

More WSOP Main Event Satellites for Canadians

The Playground Poker Club won’t be the only route for Canadians to secure a seat into the WSOP Main Event, as WSOP Ontario is also running online satellites for the prestigious tournament. The satellites will only be open to those living in Ontario as the province remains a ring-fenced market.

It was earlier confirmed that the separate satellite campaign on WSOP Ontario will run simultaneously with GGPoker’s Road to Vegas. Dozens of WSOP Main Event packages are expected to be handed out to Ontarians throughout the campaign. Each package should cover the $10,000 buy-in, hotel accommodation, and other perks.
