Live poker action heads to Barcelona next month with the return of the Campeonato de España de Poker (CEP). Taking place from February 7-16, the poker tour will once again make its first stop at Casino Barcelona, which has one of Europe’s largest poker rooms.
As usual, the CEP Barcelona schedule is packed with events for every player, regardless of their bankroll. Buy-ins start from as low as €60, all the way up to €1,000. The action kicks off with the €150 buy-in Opening Event, which has two starting flights running on Feb 7 & 8. Players begin with 20,000 in chips played in 30-minute levels. They will battle it out until Feb 9, during which a winner will be crowned.
The main attraction of the festival is the CEP Main Event which takes place on Feb 12-16. The event comes with a buy-in of €500 and features three starting flights on Feb 12-14 during which participants will play with 30,000 in starting chips, with blind levels increasing every 50 minutes. The Main Event schedule also includes a turbo Day 1d happening on February 15. Day 2 and 3 of the event will feature a deeper structure of 60-minute blind levels until a champion is hailed.

Last year, the CEP Barcelona Main Event, which is also being referred to as the Spanish Poker Championships, was taken down by French poker pro Fabien Lecardonnel after topping a huge field of 1,733 entrants to take home €110,000 ($123,111) in first-place prize.
Players can take part in the Main Event for a fraction of the price by entering satellites taking place on Feb 2, 3 and 6, with a buy-in of only €12.
Players looking for higher-level action can take part in the CEP High Roller on February 10-11. The €1,000 buy-in event features 30,000 in chips and 45-minunte blind levels. Players may enter into the event by qualifying via satellites which carry buy-ins of between €60 to €110.
Cash games players will also get to enjoy various cash game offerings running 24/7 throughout the festival. A Deepstack and a Mini CEP event are also on the schedule, with a buy-in of €125 and €200 respectively. Online satellites are also available at Casinobarcelone.es.
The 15th edition of the CEP will hold a total of six stops throughout the year, including Donosti (May 6-10), Alicante (July 8 – 12), Madrid (September 2 – 6), Marbella (October 21-25) and Peralada (November 25-29).
