Daniel Dvoress Wins £25K Single-Day High Roller at EPT London

Summary

  • Daniel Dvoress won his first EPT London event for £196,170
  • Dvoress topped a field of 19 entries and defeated Joao Vieira heads-up to win
  • The EPT London stop has been a great success for PokerStars

The £25,000 Single-Day High Roller at the PokerStars European Poker Tour London was taken down by high stakes poker pro Daniel Dvoress. The £25,000 Single-Day High Roller attracted a 19-entry field comprised of some of the biggest names in the high roller scene in Europe.

The Canadian poker pro outclassed his opponents after 12 hours of action to walk away with the £196,170 top prize. His latest victory also gave him his maiden EPT title on European soil and adds to his more than $21 million in total live earnings.

Dvoress was leading the pack early in the day and managed to widen the gap as the game progressed. Just before the dinner break, he won a crucial hand against Mike Watson which further extended his lead. He never looked back from there.

High Stakes Action Recap

The 19 entries became just 9 after the dinner break, and not long after, there were just five people left at the table. Sam Greenwood was the second-largest stack at some point during the day but fell short of reaching the money after becoming the bubble player, finishing in 5th place.

Less than an hour after Greenwood’s exit, start-of-day chip leader Danny Tang was eliminated next after losing his pocket tens to the rivered flush of Dvoress. Tang took home £54,740 for his 4th-place finish. The eventual winner went on to knock out Pablo Silva. The Brazilian called after Dvoress shoved from the button, but didn’t find any help from the board to end his bid in 3rd place for £82,110.

The one-on-one battle between Dvoress and Joao Vieira ended quickly. It took Dvoress just one hand to capture the title. It was still a nice run for Vieira though who walked away with £123,170 as runner-up.

Dvoress Now Has Over $21M In Prize Money

The 34 year old Dvoress has now accumulated over $21.2 million in prize money and currently sits in 4th place on Canada’s All Time Money list according to the Hendon Mob. Dvoress likes to focus on high stakes poker tournaments as he has had a lot of success in recent years with his best live cash amounting to over $4 million.

The EPT London stop has been a great success for PokerStars and is in the process of concluding with the Main Event currently underway.
