Darren Elias and partypoker US Network have entered into a mutually beneficial partnership after a deal between the two was brokered by Above the Felt Entertainment founder Tom Wheaton.
Elias has over $9 million in live poker winnings and an additional $6 million in online poker earnings. He is ranked 4th on New Jersey’s All Time Money list (14/09/2021) and has had a lot of success playing at WPT events. Elias is the most successful player in WPT history having won four events. He also holds the record for the most WPT cashouts.
He will now promote the partypoker US brand across live poker and online poker events. His first assignment will be at the WPT Online Borgata Poker Open.
This assignment is a great way for Elias to start his partnership with partypoker US as the first WPT tournament that Elias won was the WPT Borgata Open back in 2014.
Matthew Sunderland, Vice President of Gaming, BetMGM said they were happy to sign Darren Elias to the partypoker US network and look forward to working together to promote the partypoker brand and the 2021 WPT Online Borgata Poker Open.
The WPT decided to cancel the live Borgata Poker tournament due to the COVID-19 situation in the Garden state and move the tournament online. The WPT Online Borgata Poker Open will start on Sep 12 and conclude on 21. This online edition will have a $3,500 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million.
The partypoker US network is also running a number of freerolls and satellite events to help players qualify for a lesser price. As many as 10 seats are being given away through freerolls while satellite events have a buy-in of just $5. These satellite events will be available across BetMGM Poker, partypoker NJ and Borgata Poker.
Do note that if you want to take part in the freerolls, satellites or the WPT Online Borgata Poker Open, you will need to be physically located in the state of New Jersey.
Elias encouraged players to sign-up for the WPT Online Borgata Poker Open reminding them that the first ever Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup will take place during this tournament and it’s a great chance for players to create history and become the first winner of the prestigious inaugural cup named after Mike Sexton who sadly passed away last year.
