Summary
After an almost five-year break, one of the most popular live poker festivals in the UK, the United Kingdom Poker Championships (UKPC), is returning in 2023, and making its long-awaited comeback more exciting is the presence of GGPoker which has been announced as the new sponsor of the event, taking over from partypoker.
The series runs from January 7-11, 2023 at the home of UK poker, Dusk Till Dawn (DTD). The schedule is headlined by a £560 buy-in Main Event which comes with £500,000 in guaranteed prize money. GGPoker will be running satellites for the huge tournament and will also award more than £50,000 in extra prizes to players who qualify on the site.
Players currently have two options to win their way into the UKPC Main Event via GGPoker. Starting today, October 17, the site is hosting UKPC Daily Dollar Qualifiers, with one UKPC Main Event ticket up for grabs each day. All in all, these qualifiers which cost just $1 to enter will award 60 seats to the Main Event.
Another way to gain entry to the tournament for a fraction of the price is through the $80 Super Satellites which will run on GGPoker every Wednesday from October 26. Players can win a share of at least eight UKPC Main Event seats on offer via this route.
The Daily Dollar Qualifiers and Super Satellites won’t be the only available paths to the UKPC as GGPoker has confirmed it will add more, the details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.
GGPoker will host an online Day 1 for the UKPC Main Event on January 7 and 12, and successful qualifiers can choose which day to enter. Players can also take part in the online Day 1 via direct buy-in. Those who make it to the top 20% of the field will advance to the live Day 2 which takes place at DTD.
All GGPoker qualifiers will receive automatic entry into the exclusive UKPC Aftermath £25K Freeroll
Angela Martin, GGPoker’s Head of Marketing for the UK & Ireland, said they’re thrilled to partner with DTD for the upcoming UKPC and enable players on GGPoker to qualify for the Main Event for a cheaper price.
