India Gears Up For First Ever PokerStars Winter Series

The first ever “PokerStars India Winter Series” is set to take place in India from December 16-24, featuring 37 events spread across the tournament.

Players will have the chance to get a share of the 1.48 crore rupees guaranteed prize pool with lots of freerolls on offer for everyone.

The series culminates in a ₹7,700 buy-in Main Event on December 23 with ₹35 lakh rupees in guaranteed prize money. This special PokerStars Winter Series is expected to draw poker players from all over the country as it gives them the opportunity to add big money to their bankroll and finish the year on a high.

Among other key highlights at the Winter Series is an EPT Sochi Main Event Qualifier on December 24, as well as a Sunday Special PKO Special Edition offering ₹20,00,000 in guaranteed prize money.

A Wrap-up Freeroll will also take place on December 24, specifically for players taking part in at least three events. The Wrap-up Freeroll will give away ₹7,50,000 which will be shared by the top finishers.

Freerolls and Giveaways

Some of the buy-ins are pretty steep but poker pros who are finding it hard to come up with the money don’t need to worry as they can still take part in events through a bunch of promotions running throughout the Series. There’s the Winter Series Freerolls running daily, awarding ₹2,50,000 in free tickets to the top finishers.

Players can take part in the Main Event for free via Main Event Deposit offers. Those who make ₹30,000 worth of deposits before December 23 can win a free ticket by using the code ‘WINTER’. Each player can only use one deposit code per offer period. If you win extra Main Event tickets, you can still use them in any PokerStars-sponsored tournaments or satellites with the same buy-in.

There will also be a Main Event Depositors Freeroll on December 22 which will give players the chance to win their way into the Main Event. To qualify, they need to deposit at least ₹1,500 using the code ‘FREEROLL’ before 20.30 IST on the same day. The top 50 finishers will earn a seat at the Main Event.

Players who failed in their first attempt to finish in the money, can still push through and take part in Second Chance Freerolls which will run daily from December 17-23. Unused tickets will be forfeited.
