partypoker rolled out a slew of changes to its mobile poker application recently, adding some new features, innovations, and software tweaks, all aimed at taking online gaming experience to a whole new level.
As part of the major overhaul, it will now be easier for mobile app users to play their favourite games one-handed by enabling the new portrait mode, equipped with more user-friendly buttons, enhanced graphics, an improved hand replayer and a new bet slider that’s easy to use.
The new portrait feature eliminates the need for players to turn their phone to landscape mode while playing, offering a more convenient way for them to enjoy their favourite games.
Apart from this, partypoker’s Texas Hold’em games now have an added all-in equity feature, while a new easy-to-navigate SPINS lobby has also been introduced.
The new portrait mode feature only applies to SPINS for now, but it’s understood the feature will also be introduced to some other partypoker games available on the app, including cash games and MTTs, early next year.
One of the new features that has gained attention is partypoker’s new social currency called ‘Diamonds’. At the moment, players can earn Diamonds by simply playing hands in the upgraded mobile client. While partypoker is yet to announce the full details of the new currency, players are expected to accumulate more Diamonds by accomplishing tasks and missions, and hitting certain goals – this works in similar fashion to existing missions at partypoker.
Furthermore, players can use their Diamonds to elevate their levels of fun and excitement while playing on the mobile app. Players can now throw virtual items at their opponents, like eggs and tomatoes, or blow kisses at them, at a cost of one Diamond per item. The throwing of items comes with special sounds and animation.
Players can even spend their Diamonds to view the remaining cards not dealt in the hand under another new feature called Rabbit. However they will have to spend up to three Diamonds to use the feature, depending on how far the hand has played out. partypoker is still looking to add more ways for players to utilise their Diamonds, including the introduction of fun avatars and special emojis, as well as fresh themes.
Ross McQuater, Head of Product at partypoker, said this is just the beginning of a series of updates that the online poker operator is planning to introduce in the coming months. McQuater said the latest changes fall in line with partypoker’s commitment to provide a more fun and engaging gaming experience for its growing player base.
