partypoker had a fabulous 2018 which was capped by its record breaking MILLIONS online event which saw a whopping $21 million in prize money up for grabs. The online poker room is set to shake things up in 2019 by announcing it Millions LIVE 2019 schedule.
This is the third season for MILLIONS LIVE and partypoker is looking to make it bigger and better.
One of the biggest changes that will take place in Season 3 is that all five Main Events will have freezeouts.
Partypoker is looking to send a strong message to other live poker tours by hosting 5 Main Events in different parts of the world and all of them will have a guaranteed prize pool of $5 million or more.
Season 3 will get started with MILLIONS South America which runs from March 15 to 24 and takes place at the Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro. The MILLIONS LIVE tour when then head to North America and take place at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal from May 22 to 27.
The third stop will be MILLIONS Europe which will be held at the popular King’s Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic from August 10 to 18. The fourth stop will be the MILLIONS World that will be held at the Baha Mar in the Bahamas from November 15-24. The guaranteed prize pool for this Main Event is $10 million.
Partypoker will once again close the year with its MILLIONS ONLINE event and those dates are still yet to be confirmed.
Partypoker will run a number of online satellite events for all of these Live stops in order to give players a chance to qualify without having to pay the $10,300 buy-in. To find out more information about these satellite events, do check the partypoker website.
Partypoker has taken into consideration player feedback and input from stakeholders to make a number of interesting changes. One of those changes is bringing freezeouts to the Main Events.
In a statement, John Duthie, President for partypoker said
We are going to change the format of our MILLIONS tournaments to a 10,000 (local currency) freezeout, with reduced late registration and no multiple Day 1s. The schedules will be reduced to a maximum of seven days, giving the host venues the option to add their own events around the tournament to build the festival
