partypoker players are in for some extra action this Sunday as the online poker room has boosted the guarantee on its Bounty Hunter Progressive Knockout (PKO) tournament to $100,000 with a buy-in of $11.00.
Earlier this year, partypoker introduced a few changes to how buy-ins will be distributed in PKO tournaments. Of the $11.00 buy-in, $5.00 will go directly to the regular prize pool.
The knockout stage will get $5.50 of the buy in, while the remaining $0.50 serves as the tournament fee. In order to achieve the $100k guarantee, the tournament needs to attract a total of 9,524 entries. If the target number of players is not met, the overlay will be added to the prize pool.
The $100,000 PKO event starts at 4pm but two and a half hours will be allocated for late registration. During this time, players who have been knocked out will be given the chance to re-enter, (maximum of two re-entries for each player). The action kicks off with 100,000 chips, and the initial 500/1,000 (ante 80) blinds will increase as the event progresses.
It will be a long night for the players as the tournament is expected to last for up to 11 hours. The scheduled tournament on Sunday is just one of a series of PKO events planned by partypoker for the month of November. KO Series V3 is due to take place on Nov 18-25 and will have a guarantee of $10 million.
partypoker has confirmed it will run four exclusive promotions in support of the KO Series, which include Sit & Go Jackpot games that will award winners with tickets to the events. On top of that, those who reach the Final Table of the KO tournament will see their payout doubled. There will also be Sit & Go Jackpot Missions and a KO Series Card Rush leaderboard where players can win cash prizes. There are also a number of cool prizes on offer. Knocking out a sponsored partypoker pro at the tournament will give players the chance to win five times the buy-in of any KO Series event.
Throughout the week, partypoker will run a massive selection of PKO tournaments, with the players’ bounty possibly exceeding the top prize as each tournament ends. Those who love playing PKO or would like to try it out for the first time can sign up with partypoker and take advantage of a first deposit bonus worth up to $500.
