Phil Hellmuth Cashes Over $180k In First 10 Days At 2021 WSOP

Poker Hall of Famer Phil Hellmuth is enjoying a good run at the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP). While Hellmuth hasn’t won any WSOP event during the first 10 days of the live poker tournament, he has made it to two final tables and cashed out three times, bringing his combined winnings in the first few days at the WSOP to just over $180,000.

If the average poker player ends up winning $180,000 during at outing at the WSOP, they will be absolutely delighted. Hellmuth is happy with his performance but in many ways this is just another day at the office for him.

Phil Hellmuth is considered to be the Greatest Player of All Time (GOAT) as he has the most number of WSOP bracelets (15) in history, is a member of the Poker Hall Of Fame, has over $25 million in live poker tournament earnings and sits in 21st place on the All Time Money list based on the Hendon Mob (11/10/2021).

Hellmuth no longer needs to play at WSOP events to make a living but he continues to work on his game and improve because he is determined to leave behind a legacy. Hellmuth said that while most of the poker community agree that he is the GOAT, not all of them agree that he is the best player going around at this point in time.

That’s something he is looking to change and believes the best way for him to do that is to have a good run at the 2021 WSOP.

2021 WSOP Performance

Hellmuth tasted success rather quickly at the 2021 WSOP as he played Event #2: $25,000 H.O.R.S.E., and finished in the money with a sixth place finish that brought him $95,329 in prize money. That was a great start for Hellmuth and he quickly added on to that when he took 18th place at the Event #7: $1,500 Dealers Choice event which fetched him an additional $4,429.

His third cashout at the 2021 WSOP was Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship which saw him finish in 5th place and take home $80,894. What’s interesting about these wins at the 2021 WSOP is all of his cashouts have come playing non-hold’em events, whereas Hellmuth is best known for his success playing hold’em events.

We will have to wait and see if Hellmuth can finish the 2021 WSOP with another WSOP gold bracelet win.
