PokerStars Latest Bounty Builder Series To Award $30m In Guarantees

The popular Bounty Builder Series is officially back on PokerStars. The latest edition of the PKO festival kicked off on October 11 and will run through to October 25, featuring a massive $30 million guaranteed prize pool, up from the $25 million in guarantees offered during the past two runnings.

The jam-packed schedule includes a total of 213 events, headlined by not just one, but two Main Events, both taking place on October 25. The $530 buy-in NLHE [8-Max Main Event] features the biggest guaranteed prize pool at $2.5 million. Players with limited bankroll can still compete for $1 million in guarantees in the lower buy-in Main Event, which comes with an entry fee of only $55.

Other highlights include the $109 NLHE Sunday Million (October 18) which offers $1.5 million in guaranteed prize pool, the second-largest guarantee on the schedule, as well as the $530 NLHE [Bounty Builder HR SE] which also offers $1 million in prize money, taking place on October 11. The schedule is filled with six-figure guaranteed NLHE events played in 6-Max, 8-Max and Turbo formats, with buy-ins beginning at $22.

Small stakes players can also find a number of events to enjoy, such as the $1.10, $2.20 and $11 buy-in NLHE events, with guarantees ranging from $7,500 to $100,000. A handful of mixed-game tournaments have also been sprinkled in, featuring PLO, 6+ Hold’em and H.O.R.S.E.

New Changes

While the previous Bounty Builders featured flat blind levels, this time around organizers are trying out a new structure, with some events to be played in decreasing blind levels. For example, if players start the action with 15-minute levels, the structure will eventually shift to 10-minute levels. Most of the events on the schedule feature shorter levels, so expect the action to be more intense.

But take note though that there are still a number of events having similar blind levels all throughout the festival, such as the Main Event and the $1,040 buy-in Sunday Warm-Up. So before choosing what tournaments to play, make sure to check the structure so you will be well-prepared.

PokerStars has yet to release an official announcement on the latest structure changes or the reasons for it, but many speculate it could be because PKOs have gotten too deep-stacked lately, with the pros gaining an advantage over the recreational players.
