After hosting its inaugural online tournament series in Ontario, PokerStars is bringing two more major festivals to Ontario, starting with the ongoing Bounty Builder Series which kicked off on September 4.
In October, the online poker site’s flagship series Championship of Online Poker (COOP) will debut in Ontario and it is expected to be huge. PokerStars Ontario has yet to release a full schedule but the dates have already been confirmed.
Ontario Championship of Online Poker
The first Ontario Championship of Online Poker (ONCOOP) will kick off on October 1 and will run through October 17, with players set to compete for at least $2 million in guaranteed prize money. ONCOOP is an event players shouldn’t miss as it is by far the biggest and richest tournament series to run on PokerStars Ontario.
PokerStars’ COOP series is among the world’s most prestigious and popular online poker festivals taking place each year across the globe.
The operator is hosting a similar series in its US markets from September 9-26. The global version, aptly named the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), is ongoing and will take place until September 28, with a massive $85 million in guarantees up for grabs throughout the series.
Bounty Builder Series Gets Underway
We already know that ONCOOP is scheduled for October, meaning players still have plenty of time to prepare for the series. This month though, they’ll get the chance to have some sort of a warm-up and boost their bankroll via the Bounty Builder Series which is currently underway on PokerStars Ontario. The festival caters to players of all levels, with buy-ins ranging from $10 to $500.
There’s $1 million in guarantees up for grabs across multiple events running until September 19. All of the events are played in Progressive Knockout (PKO) format. If you’re not used to playing PKO tournaments, the PokerStars blog has a dedicated PKO section where you can learn more about the format.
The main highlight of the Bounty Builder Series is the $200 buy-in Main Event which features a $100,000 guarantee. PokerStars Ontario will be running satellites for this huge event so make sure to always check out the lobby for the satellite schedule.
