Summary
PokerStars Ontario is currently running a new series named the “50/50 Series”, with more than $250,000 in guarantees up for grabs across seven days of online action.
It comes on the heels of a number of successful series hosted by the site this year, including the Winter Series, the Chinese New Year Series and the KO Weekend.
The 50/50 Series got underway on PokerStars Ontario on February 5 and will run until February 12 featuring 50 poker games, each with a buy-in of $50. All in all, the series comes with $262,000 in total guarantees.
The schedule is headlined by the Main Event where players will compete for at least $20,000 in guaranteed prize money. It will be played in progressive knockout (PKO) format and will run on February 12. The tournament carries the biggest guarantee of the series.
Apart from the Main Event, there are two other key tournaments to watch for – the “Mini Thursday Thrill” and “The Weekend Starter” which take place on February 9 and 11 respectively, with at least $10,000 and $11,000 in guarantees on offer.
For those keen on joining the Main Event for a much cheaper price, PokerStars Ontario is running “Mega Sat” games which players can enter for only $3.
Three Mega Sat games are running daily until February 7, each guaranteeing three seats into the Main Event. The operator will be giving away extra tickets if the required field in each game is surpassed. That means plenty of Main Event seats could be won via this route which is great news for players.
With PokerStars Ontario already completing three tournament series so far this year, it’s becoming quite clear that the operator is focusing its efforts on offering players plenty of tournament action in 2023. There’s a lot in store for MTT fans in the months ahead, with the site expected to host more events after the 50/50 Series.
The 50/50 Series has been a hit among PokerStars players in the global dot-com market. The latest edition of the series for international players also takes place around the same time as the Ontario version for Canadian Poker Players, kicking off on February 5 and running until February 13.
