PokerStars Releases Full Schedule of $100M GTD 2021 WCOOP

PokerStars has finally released the full schedule of the 2021 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), which runs from August 22 to September 15, featuring a massive $100 million guarantee, the biggest-ever in the history of the series.

This year’s WCOOP is extra special as it marks the festival’s 20th edition. The schedule is packed with a total of 306 individual events, categorized into the Low, Medium, and High buy-in tiers.

Entry fees range from $5.50, all the way up to $25,000, with a wide range of formats and variants to choose from, including No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, 6+ Hold’em, HORSE, Badugi, Stud, Deepstack, Turbo, and Progressive Knockout.

As usual, the series will culminate in the WCOOP Main Events – there’s six of them in total, offering a combined guaranteed prize pool of $16 million. The Main Events will be played in NLHE and PLO.

The largest-guaranteed tournament of the series is the $5,200 buy-in NLHE Main Event – H, which comes with a whopping $10 million in guaranteed prizes. Last year, the event was taken down by Portugal’s Andre “PTFisherman23” Marques for $1,147,271 following a three-way deal. The tournament attracted a total of 1,977 entries.

Satellites & Promotions

There are plenty of ways for players to enter into events, one of which is via satellites, under the “Road to WCOOP” promo which runs until August 21. There will be $1 million worth of WCOOP tickets to be given away.

In addition to that, players can win their way into the $5,200 WCOOP main Event by taking part in the 50/50 WCOOP Series which takes place until August 15. The winner of each tournament in the 50/50 WCOOP Series will secure a Main Event seat.

Another way to win WCOOP seats is via the WCOOP Fast Track promo, running until September 12, where players can secure a Main Event seat from as low as $1.

Leaderboards & Giveaways

Apart from the huge prizes on offer at WCOOP tournaments, extra cash plus trophies are up for grabs in four leaderboards running throughout the series.

Here’s what awaits the winner of each leaderboard: Low – $5,000 cash + trophy; Medium – $8,500 cash + trophy; High – $12,500 cash + trophy; Overall – $25,000 cash + trophy.

In 2020, Russian poker pro Rinat “Zapahzamazki” Lyapin was crowned the overall champion after scoring 59 cashes throughout the festival. He took home $25,000 in cash and a trophy commemorating his exemplary performance.
