The latest stop in the PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) 2023 schedule is upon us, taking place in Edinburgh, Scotland from October 24-29.
Players are expected to flock to the Genting Casino Fountain Park over the next few days as the popular tour returns to the Scottish capital after eight long years.
2023 UKIPT Edinburgh Schedule
The 2023 UKIPT Edinburgh is headlined by the Main Event which costs £1,100 to enter. The tournament, which runs from October 26-29, features a starting flight that takes place remotely at London’s Hippodrome Casino on October 26. Survivors will have to travel to Edinburgh for Day 2 of the event which is scheduled for October 28 at 1:00 p.m.
Genting Casino will be hosting three more Day 1s for the Main Event on October 26 & 27. The tournament plays down to a winner on October 29.
Apart from the Main Event, the UKIPT Edinburgh line-up also includes a £2,200 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller which runs from October 26-27. Also part of the schedule is the £330 UKIPT Cup, a two-day event running from October 28-29, featuring a pair of Day 1 flights.
Two other tournaments are scheduled for the final day of the series – a No-Limit Hold’em Bounty event and a Deepstack tourney which both have a buy-in of £220.
The venue will also host satellites to the major events. Satellites for the Main Event are available for £125, while qualifiers for the High Roller cost £250. Players may also secure seats via online satellites on PokerStars for as low as £5.50.
UKIPT Edinburgh is also included in the operator’s Power Path promotion. Those with a Silver Pass may redeem it for a UKIPT Edinburgh package which includes a seat to the £1,100 Main Event, £330 UKIPT Cup ticket, and $2,500 in expenses. The Silver Pass holder will also enjoy limited edition merchandise and exclusive activities at the series.
Previous Winners of UKIPT Edinburgh Main Event
UKIPT Edinburgh debuted in 2010, with the Main Event won by Canada’s Nick Abou Risk for £50,000. The tour returned to the city once again in 2011 and 2012, and during those years, Ireland’s Fintan Gavin and Brazil’s Nicolau Villa-Lobos were crowned Main Event champs respectively. Gavin took home £61,500 for his victory, while Villa-Lobos walked away with £101,000, the largest UKIPT Edinburgh Main Event top prize to date.
The last two winners of the UKIPT Edinburgh Main Event were UK poker pro Dean Hutchinson who won the tournament in 2014 for £93,900, and Spain’s David Gomez Morante who claimed the title in 2015 with £49,660 in first-place prize.
