Sergey Yashur Wins WPT Pro Hunt And Gets WPTWOC Main Event Ticket

The World Poker Tour World Online Championships (WPTWOC) is in full swing on partypoker and will run through till September 14.

The festival returns for a second edition featuring events with buy-ins ranging from $5.50 to $25,500. The series kicked off on partypoker on August 12, and so far multiple events have already crowned a champion, including the WPT Pro Hunt which was taken down by Ukraine’s Sergey Yashur.

The WPT Pro Hunt is a special tournament on the WPTWOC schedule. It gives players the chance to compete with some of the best players in the game, for an entry fee of only $33.

On top of that, the tournament also comes with added prizes, including a free seat into the $5,300 WPTWOC Main Event for the ultimate winner.

The event, which attracted a total of 1,374 entries, was participated in by some of partypoker’s popular ambassadors, including Patrick Leonard, Isaac Haxton, Joao Simao, Louise Butler and Jamie Staples, all of whom fell by the wayside. The eventual winner even shared a table with Haxton, and then later on rubbed shoulders with Butler.

Yashur Aims High for Upcoming WPTWOC Main Event

Yashur said he did not focus much on taking the special bounties on the ambassadors’ heads, as he instead chased for the small stacked players to build up his stack. When he finally made it to the final table, Yashur was confident he would take home the title, and his determination ultimately paid off.

Yashur has had a great run on partypoker over the past few weeks. Prior to entering the WPT Pro Hunt, the Ukrainian secured free tickets into three tournaments, and he was able to make the final table of all three. He then decided to buy in for the WPT Pro Hunt and ended up as the winner. But the best is yet to come for the banking IT specialist.

Apart from the top prize, Yashur also won a seat into the $5,300 WPTWOC Main Event, giving him the chance to win a share of a massive $5 million guarantee, and eventually become a WPTWOC Main Event champion.

The event which kicks off on August 29, will be the biggest and richest tournament for Yashur so far and winning it would be life-changing for him and his family. The Ukrainian player has huge goals for the upcoming event, and he believes nothing is impossible if you just work hard, believe in yourself, and never give up.
