Shannon Shorr can finally call himself a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner.

The poker pro opened October with a bang after taking down WSOP Online $2,000 NLHE 6-Max, winning $89,125.78 in first-place prize, along with his first-ever gold bracelet.

Dream Come True for Shorr

Shorr is an accomplished poker pro with nearly $12 million in total live earnings. He achieved his first tournament record in 2006 when he finished 4th in the A$10,500 Main Event of the Crown Australian Poker Championships in Melbourne. The US poker pro from Alabama the has since been on the hunt for a gold bracelet and it took him 17 years to realize that dream.

Shorr faced Maxx “mc4chess” heads-up in WSOP Online $2,000 NLHE 6-Max event on Sunday, October 1. He only needed to win a flip to claim his maiden bracelet and it happened. Shorr topped a 113-entry field to win the tournament which came with a top prize of $89,125.78. But more than the money, Shorr was overjoyed that he finally added a WSOP title to his name.

His precious reaction after winning the tournament was caught on camera which all bracelet winners can relate to. His pregnant wife was there to celebrate with him, making his victory more special.

Shorr has been competing at WSOP events both live and online since 2006. He came close to winning a bracelet in the past when he finished second in a couple of tournaments, along with multiple final table finishes.

The year didn’t start well for Shorr, with the poker pro admitting in April that things had been a “little slow”. But just a few months after, Shorr managed to turn things around with a runner-up finish in the $5,300 No-Limit Hold’em Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship for $545,000, one of the biggest scores of his career.

Shorr won his largest cash in 2006 after winning the $10,300 Bellagio Cup II in Las Vegas for $960,690.

Shorr’s WSOP Record Improves to 200 Cashes and 1 Title

With his latest victory, Shannon Shorr has officially removed himself from the list of the best players without a bracelet. All in all, his WSOP record now includes 200 cashes both live and online, translating to $3.5 million in total earnings since 2006.
