Women’s poker will receive more attention when female poker pros light up the table. That’s what Sylvia Hewitt has been doing in recent times. It was just a couple of months back that Sylvia Hewitt won the Ladies Event at the Venetian Deepstack and she struck again with a first-place finish at the partypoker LIVE GTD Deepstack at Dusk Till Dawn.
As many as 489 players shelled out £550 for a shot at becoming a champion and getting their hands on a piece of the £250,000 guaranteed prize pool. Tournament organizers put together a format where the top 54 players would finish in the money.
Several Dusk Till Dawn regulars like Rupinder Bedi, Kryiacos Dionysiou and Matthew Eardley finished in the money while Ben Spraggons barely missed out on final table action when he was knocked out in 11 th place. Spraggons must have also felt a bit of added disappointment that he missed out on a free seat at the £5,300 MILLIONS UK Event. Those free seats were only given out to the final 10 players.
Mark Gardner was the first to be sent packing from the final table and received a £3,500 payout for his efforts. Ezaldin Adams, David Benoit-Janin and then Alexsandrs Golubevs got knocked out from the final table and in the end it came down to Sylvia Hewitt going heads up with Jack Allen with a title and a £40,000 first-place cash prize on the line.
Jack Allen previously took home £38,000 when he won a £500 buy-in event at Dusk Till Dawn back in 2014. However, it wasn’t in the cards for Allen this time around as Hewitt sent him to the mat to claim the title and the £40,000. The UK female poker pro now has just $133,705 in prize money and is looking to continue her form in 2018.
