Timur Margolin Wins NLH Event And First WSOP Bracelet

Poker pros from all over the world make plans each year to travel to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the hopes of making it big and winning a nice sum of money. Thousands of these overseas poker players visit the WSOP but very few of them end up realizing their dreams.

Israeli poker pro Timur Margolin was one of those overseas players who made his way to the 2018 WSOP. Margolin entered Event number 43 which was the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em (NLH) that saw a massive turnout as 1,248 players registered for the event. This massive turnout brought the total guaranteed prize pool up to $2,808,000 and the ensured that the winner would walk away with a lot of money.

There were some top poker pros who threw their hats into the ring including 2017 POY Chris Ferguson. Margolin is a pretty accomplished poker pro in Israel who had over $1 million in prize money entering the event and he used his experience to outlast the competition and make it to the final 6.

The final six players had to put in an extra day to determine the eventual winner and there was a lot of excitement around the table as well as on Twitch as the final table was streamed. Margolin had a nice advantage over the years as he was the chip leader but German poker pro Ismael Bojang gave him a run for his money. Bojang has made it to the final table of 15 WSOP events in his career and three of those events were NHL tournaments.

Margolin was determined to do better than his 2015 run at the same event where he finished in second place. His determination and strategy saw him pip Bojang and helped him win his first WSOP gold bracelet along with $507,274. The win takes his total career prize money up to $1,552,472 and puts him in 8th place on Israel’s All Time Money List.

Margolin Confirms WSOP Main Event Participation

After his win, Margolin said

I have just been playing like I have all tournament. I am feeling in a better place mentally nowadays, I am just happy to be here, happy for the experience anyways. I felt good, and I would do the same decisions, tried not to let it affect me, and then some cards came my way and that's it

The Israeli poker pro has also confirmed that he will be taking part in the 2018 WSOP Main Event.
