Summary:
WPT Global has come a long way since its launch in 2022. It has continued to attract players with its exciting features, game offerings, and promotions, not to mention that it is the official online poker site of the premier, internationally recognized poker brand, the World Poker Tour (WPT).
Now, there’s one more reason to play at WPT Global as the platform is giving away $14,000 in extra prizes each week via its tournament leaderboards.
WPT Global is home to a great line-up of multi-table tournaments for various poker games and now they’re complemented by leaderboards that give players the opportunity to win extra prizes depending on their performance.
At the moment, there are two tournament leaderboards – the Main Leaderboard and the High Roller Leaderboard – running from Monday through Sunday on WPT Global. The Main Leaderboard is for low-stakes players competing in tournaments with buy-ins of less than $27, while the High Roller Leaderboard is for those playing tournaments with entry fees of $27 or more.
Players earn points according to the tournament’s buy-in, number of entries, and their finishing position.
The weekly Main Leaderboard awards prizes to the top 100 points earners. Over $10,000 worth of tournament tickets and cash is up for grabs each week, with those reaching the top 100 guaranteed to take home at least a $22 satellite ticket to the 2024 WPT World Championship.
The player who comes out on top for the week takes home 2x $55 and 2x $220 WPT World Championship satellite tickets, along with $1,000 in cash.
Meanwhile, the Weekly High Roller Leaderboard awards the top 5 players. Those earning a spot in the top 5 are guaranteed to win 2x $55 WPT World Championship tickets, plus a $220 WPT World Championship satellite ticket. The champion walks away with a $1,060 WPT World Championship ticket, plus $500 cash.
Sunday is the biggest day for real money online poker as sites host some of their biggest tournaments. WPT Global is no exception with three Sunday Majors running – the $11 Mini Slam, $110 Sunday Slam, and $330 Grand Slam.
These tournaments already feature nearly $80,000 in guarantees, but to sweeten the pot, WPT Global is awarding a $100,000 jackpot to the player who manages to win all three tournaments. This feat was achieved in June 2023 by Brazilian player “Bebeto42”.
