WPT Global Influencers Tournament Won By Brazilian Bruno Foster

Summary

  • Brazilian influencer outlasts a field of 34 players to win the tournament
  • Bruno Foster went on to defeat top pros Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey
  • WPT Global is expected to run more promotions and tournaments

WPT Global which went live back April is now starting to gather steam after running a series of promotions and special events, one of which was the Influencers Tournament recently won by Brazil’s Bruno Foster.

WPT Global Influencers Tournament

Foster was among the 17 WPT Global influencers who took part in the tournament which concluded on June 12. The rest of the 34-entry field was comprised of the winners of freeroll tournaments hosted by the influencers themselves that ran on the site from May 30 to June 11. Foster ultimately emerged as the winner, beating the likes of Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey, Australian actress Lynn Gilmartin and American DJ Steve Aoki.

The tournament paid out a top prize of $100,000, but Foster was able to boost his winnings after securing an extra $2,000 in bounties. He also walked away with the $25,000 initially reserved for the influencer to last the longest in the game. That means the Brazilian influencer took home more than $125,000 for his impressive performance.

Reacting to his victory, Foster said his win didn’t come easy. He partly attributed his victory to his poker strategy of effective bluffs which helped him dominate the competition, eliminating top opponents like Tom Dwan whom he considers one of his poker idols.

More Exciting Things Await Players at WPT Global

WPT Global is expected to continue to host exciting tournaments and promotions in a bid to attract as many players as possible. Its welcome package is among the best in the industry today, awarding new players with up to $1,200 bonus. In addition to that, they’ll also receive a $100 tournament ticket which they can use to take a shot at a $100K GTD tournament scheduled for this month.

It will come as no surprise if WPT Global quickly catches up with the leading real money online poker sites. Apart from running some of the best promotions, the platform’s game offerings are also impressive, with cash games and tournaments available in a wide range of stakes.

Also one of WPT Global’s strongest aspects is its software which is compatible with all major mobile devices. Add to that some unique features that are currently not found in the leading sites, such as the integration of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) made possible through its partnership with blockchain studio Gamavrs.
