WSOP Improves Registration Process And Adds Final Eight Events

The schedule of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) has now been finalized, with a total of 101 events on offer for those eyeing the much-coveted gold bracelet. The 51st edition of the world’s longest-running and most prestigious poker festival returns to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on May 26 to July 15.

In-person registration and payout distribution will now be conducted in separate rooms, and those looking to take part will be provided with necessary info as to the documents required, ahead of time, so the registration process takes place smoothly during the festival.

Among the required documents is a physical ,a href=”https://www.caesars.com/myrewards”>Caesars Rewards card which players can get by presenting a valid ID, such as a driver’s license or passport. The cards will be distributed in the Rotunda of the Rio convention center. They can also be reprinted. Players can register in person by paying through cash, Rio casino chips, credit cards and wire transfers.

But if they want to escape the long queues and get to their seats much faster, they can take advantage of the online/mobile registration option. They can do so in two ways – first is to set up an account and pay via BravoPokerLive.com using a credit card. This option comes with an extra fee though, but it will be worth it for players wanting to save more time.

Another way to register online is through a funded WSOP Tournament Account which will eliminate the need to wait in lines to secure your seat. After registering online, you just have to utilize the self-serve kiosks in the convention center where you can directly print your seat card. This is great for those playing in multiple events at the festival. Online registration is expected to open by April.

In 2019, an estimated 20 per cent of entries registered online. The WSOP is hoping that figure will increase this year and in future WSOP editions.

Final Eight Events Added

Last week, the WSOP added the final eight tournaments completing the schedule, including Mixed Triple Draw Lowball, H.O.R.S.E., Limit Hold’em 6-Handed, PLO 6-Handed, Mixed Big Bet, NL 8-Handed and two NL 6-Handed events. Buy-ins for these events range from $2,500 to $5,000.

With more events to look forward to this year, an increase in the number of players participating is also expected. The one major concern that the WSOP will have to deal with as the tournament approaches is over the safety of the players with regards to the coronavirus with Triton Poker already postponing their Jeju stop last month.
