Summary:
Real money poker players in Michigan and Pennsylvania will now be able to compete in a Mystery Bounty online bracelet event! WSOP officials made last-minute changes to the line-up to include the widely-popular format.
But one tournament also needed to be dropped, which means the number of gold bracelets up for grabs in each state remains at seven.
When the WSOP released the schedule of its online bracelet series in the US back in February, the line-up did not include the Mystery Bounty format.
At that time, Mystery Bounty just debuted in Michigan, with the WSOP becoming the first operator to launch the format in the US regulated online poker market. Just days after being introduced in Michigan, the format made its way to Pennsylvania. After quickly gathering steam, Mystery Bounty now forms part of the Online Circuit Series which takes place each month.
The format’s inclusion in the online bracelet schedule comes as no surprise given its strong appeal to players. It’s the first time that the WSOP is awarding a gold bracelet via the popular format and players in Michigan and Pennsylvania will be the first in the US to take a shot. Those in New Jersey and Nevada will have to wait a little longer as the network’s software has yet to be upgraded.
The Mystery Bounty tournament has been listed as Event #4, officially replacing the $400 buy-n Progressive Knockout (PKO) event. It costs $500 to enter and comes with a $100,000 guarantee. It takes place on June 25 in Michigan and Pennsylvania.
The Mystery Bounty online bracelet event has a top bounty prize of $20,000, with the bounty element coming into pay from level 18. Players start the action with a 30,000-chip stack and are allowed up to three re-entries.
GGPoker led the way in terms of running a Mystery Bounty bracelet event when it hosted the Million Dollar Mystery Bounty in 2022, offering $10 million in guarantees. The tournament pulled in more than 50,000 entries, making it the biggest mystery bounty event in online poker history.
The 2023 WSOP Online Bracelet Series kicks off on June 1 on the New Jersey-Nevada network and on June 4 in Michigan and Pennsylvania. The Mystery Bounty tournament is expected to draw a massive turnout and set a new record.
